What OutOfDark is
OutOfDark is a web application for cataloging a numismatic collection. It is operated by Mincmistr s.r.o., company ID (IČO) 240 06 921, registered office at no. 115, 431 51 Okounov, Czech Republic, entered in the Commercial Register at the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem, file no. C 54971.
Who may use the service
The service may be used by a person over 18 years of age. A younger user may use it only with the consent of their legal guardian.
What you can expect
- We strive to keep the service available and reliable. However, short outages, maintenance or technical limitations can happen.
- Your data stays yours. You can download it at any time in a ZIP archive.
- We do not display ads in the app and we do not sell your data to third parties.
- Features change and evolve – we gradually add new ones and occasionally remove unused ones.
What we expect from you
- Do not deliberately harm the service (overloading, bulk scraping of data by bots, unauthorized intrusions and the like).
- Do not upload illegal content (stolen photos, copyrighted material without rights, etc.).
- Respect other users.
Plans and pricing
OutOfDark has two plans:
- Free – free of charge, with a limited number of AI calls and marketplace listings. Sufficient for a small collection.
- Premium – a paid monthly plan, full access to AI features (coin identification, filling in data from Numista, AI chat), higher marketplace listing limits, priority support. The current price is shown in the app under My account → Subscription before activation.
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Dublin, Ireland) – see Privacy Policy. Stripe issues an invoice with all the required details (21% VAT in the Czech Republic, reverse-charge VAT for VAT payers with a valid VAT ID from another EU country).
We may change the price of any plan. We will notify you of the change by e-mail at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree with the new price, you can cancel the plan before the effective date of the change without penalty.
Changing and cancelling a plan
You can cancel Premium at any time via My account → Subscription → Manage in Stripe (opens the Stripe portal). After cancellation, Premium remains active until the end of the paid period; after that the account reverts to Free. Your data in the app stays untouched – only the AI and marketplace limits are reduced.
Refunds
14-day statutory withdrawal from the contract under Section 1829 of Act No. 89/2012 Coll. (the Czech Civil Code): from your first Premium payment you have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. We will refund the full amount within 14 days of notification. If you have already used Premium features during this period, we have the right to reduce the refunded amount proportionately according to the extent of the services used.
You can send us your withdrawal by e-mail to [email protected]. Just state your account e-mail and say that you want to withdraw from the Premium plan.
After the 14-day period has elapsed, an automatic refund is not part of the plan – in individual cases (a technical outage on our side, a billing error) we assess refunds after an e-mail to [email protected].
AI features
Some OutOfDark features use artificial intelligence. AI can help you with identifying a coin, drafting a description or filling in historical context, but its outputs can be wrong. It does not replace expert assessment, certification, an expert appraisal or investment advice. Always verify the information before making an important decision.
Marketplace and external integrations
If you list a coin for sale through OutOfDark or use a connection to an external service, you are responsible for the accuracy of the description, the price, the photographs and your right to offer the coin. OutOfDark is not a party to the purchase contract between the seller and the buyer, unless we expressly state otherwise.
Account termination
You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Backup → Delete account). We will erase all your data within 30 days of account deletion, with the exception of the following data due to legal obligations:
- Invoices – kept for 10 years under Section 35 of Act No. 235/2004 Coll. on VAT and Section 31 of Act No. 563/1991 Coll. on Accounting. After deleting your account you no longer have self-service access to the Stripe portal – if you need a copy of an invoice, write to [email protected] and we will send you a link.
- Activity log – 18 months (sign-ins, key actions) for security investigation in the event of an incident.
If you have an active Premium plan at the moment of deletion, we set it to end at the end of the current paid period (no further billing). However, after deleting your account you can no longer access the app – sign-in is disabled. If you want to use the rest of the paid period in the meantime, delete your account only after the end-of-period date; alternatively, cancel the plan yourself under Subscription → Manage in Stripe before deleting your account.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". We do everything we can to make it reliable, but we accept no liability for damage arising from data loss, service outages or inaccuracies in automatically generated information (AI features, metal spot prices, etc.). We recommend manually saving backups of important data (the app has an Export function for this).
Changes to the terms
We may update the terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of important changes by e-mail or in the app in advance.
Governing law
The relationship between you and OutOfDark is governed by Czech law. Any disputes will be resolved before the materially competent court in the Czech Republic.
